Maya Angelou was one of the loveliest poets in American history. There are no shortage of remembrances of her life and work, but my absolute favorite is this interview with NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross from 1986. I heard highlights from an old episode on poets, and was lucky enough to catch the re-airing that played this afternoon.
